Hi to all you internationals!
When it comes to studying abroad I am quite the veteran. My resume includes a year in Australia, an international summer school in Oslo and during the last fall semester I went to Istanbul on exchange. Because of some amazing Turkish students there that formed the international club, our university was too far from the city to enjoy the ESN there, I got to know some great places in the city and the rest of Turkey. That’s why I got very excited when I found a message that recruited new volunteers for the Erasmus Student Network in Rotterdam. Being in Rotterdam and still getting the exchange experience just sounds like a dream to me.
I know the hardships of coming to a strange country, but also the enormous amounts of fun you can have when you meet people from all over the world and make the place you all ended up in your own. I hope I can use some of that knowledge to contribute to your experience here in Rotterdam. Even though it’s probably a small, cold and rainy country compared to where you come from it has a lot to offer and I am sure you will all have a great time.
The upcoming year I’ll be responsible for PR&Marketing of ESN Rotterdam and I hope to be able to make ESN more attractive for Dutch students so you can also meet some locals. And whenever you see a poster or a flyer or get dressed in some funky ESN wear, it’s my blood, sweat and tears in there.
If you have any ideas for marketing , just a question or the need for a cup of tea don’t hesitate to contact me in person during our events or in the office or via marketing@esn-rotterdam.nl
Take care, enjoy, watch our for all the bicycles in the streets and I’ll meet you soon.
